Coming Soon!

Races unite, new barriers are broken as well as bones. Football is coming to New Eden but this isn't just any ball game, this is the game of Champions where only the strongest will survive.

Welcome to the inaugural season of the New Eden Football League where battle hardened squads of 15 from all four races compete for the ultimate prize - - The EVE Bowl.

The basics.

  • Rules are minimal. Blood will flow. Lives will be lost. Heroes will be made. . . .
  • Each game consists of four quarters with each quarter lasting fifteen minutes.
  • Teams consist of 15 players with no substitutes allowed.

Teams score points in the following ways:
  • Touchdown in opponents End Zone = 6 points.
  • Conversion (kick between the goals after TD) = 2 points.
  • Field Goal (kick between goals during play) = 3 points.
  • Injury Point (awarded for disabling through force an opposition player who no longer remains on the field of play, the ball must be active) = 1 point

At the end of the match 3 points are awarded to the winners and in the case of a draw both teams will receive 1 point.

A team usually consists of 1 Leader (main thrower) who is flanked by 2 Throwers. In the middle the team will have 3 Centres and 4 Blockers. Up front are the 5 Catchers. Variations occur but a team always has 1 Leader and 2 Throwers.

The Leader is the main thrower who will look for the runs of the Catchers or pass the play onto one of his Throwers, who may pick a new pass or attempt a run forward.

The Leader and Throwers are protected by their Blockers who are the last line of defence and will stop at nothing to defend their territory and team mates.

The Centres job is to orchestrate play in the middle and direct the runs of the Catchers and also to instruct the Blockers and provide support to both.

The Catchers are the point scorers, they will look to receive the thrown passes and motor towards the opponents End Zone.

The Divisions.

Divisions consist of 5 teams.

The 4 regional divisions are:

  • Minmatar Republic Combined Division
  • Amarr Division
  • Verge Vendor Division (Gallente)
  • Black Rise Division (Caldari)

Teams in each division play each other once with the Champion of each division going onto the EVE Bowl semi-finals and then the winners onto the EVE Bowl final where the winners are crowned as the EVE Bowl Champions.

The season typically runs from early March through to the last weekend in May. Games are played planet side in front of packed crowds.
